About This Program

Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) is an evidence-based program that works in the home to support mothers in their critical role as their child’s first and most important teacher. HIPPY strengthens families and communities by empowering mothers to actively participate in Canadian society and prepare their children for success in school and life.

HIPPY is designed for parents who want to gain confidence in their ability to teach their children and fully prepare them for success.

The program seeks to :
1. Improve parent-child relationships
2.Promote positive parent-child interaction
3. Help children achieve long-term academic success (Math, Science, Language, Reading, Motor skills)
4. Increase parents’ involvement in their child’s educational experience,
5.Create pathways for parents to access economic and educational opportunities in their communities.

  • Newcomer mothers with children aged 3-5 years old.
