Women Empowerment
AIWCC offers support to women new to Canada and Alberta through services and workshops related to cooking, domestic violence, women’s health, and equality. These programs are designed for all women newcomer clients.
Collective Kitchen
This is a workshop for newcomer women to come together in the kitchen to learn how to cook new meals and cultural dishes, plan meals for the family, and save money while grocery shopping.
Gender-Based Violence
This program is for women who have experienced or are currently experiencing domestic or intimate violence. You will learn what domestic violence is and talk to people who can help you in your situation.
Women Conversation Circle
This program encourages women to speak English in a friendly atmosphere while gaining communication skills to comfortably merge in Canadian society.
Women’s Health and Wellbeing
This program focuses on women’s health and will teach you the skills you need to live a healthy life. We will talk about healthy foods, exercise, mental health, and much more.
Women Inclusivity
This program gives all women newcomers the resources and support to build leadership skills, resilience, and healthy relationships.
Anti-Racism
This program focus on navigating understanding different forms of racism and how to deal with racism in Canada.
